NOT DONE WITH DONNE
I include below some more wonderful words of my favorite poet of late, John Donne (1572-1631).
Wilt thou forgive that sin by which I have won
Others to sin? and, made my sin their door?
--From Hymn to God my God, in my Sickness
The following words would make a great Christian epitaph. Hmm, I may use them someday!
Look Lord, and find both Adams met in me;
As the first Adam's sweat surrounds my face,
May the last Adam's blood my soul embrace.
--From Hymn to God my God, in my Sickness
