PREPARING HIM ROOM
I have been reflecting this week on the words "Let every heart prepare Him room" from the great Christmas hymn Joy to the World. The phrase "every heart" has prompted me to do some soul searching.
It can be so easy to think of other people, especially the unsaved, as needing to prepare room in their lives for Christ. Yet I wonder about those of us who know Christ in a saving way: might we need to prepare room for Him as well?
It may be that Christ's rightful place on the throne of our hearts has been usurped by all of the holiday busyness and clutter. Luke 2:7 says about the Holy Family: "...there was no room for them in the inn." I wonder if there is room in the inn of my heart for Christ this Christmas.
"Let every heart prepare Him room." Those are words well worth pondering this Christmas season ... and throughout the year.

Comments:
This is exactly right on! The Liberal version of "god 2.0" is that of a great big useless cry-baby in the sky. Their God can't help, but to weep with us and wring his/her hands and await better choices on our part. Pitiful!

I prefer the God of the Bible.

It is also so pitiful to see what the Church of England has become. They once had strong Calvinist roots, but they became a half-Romanist, half-Pelagian sham. There are biblically-based ministries there, but they have little voice after Archbishop Carey retired.

P.S.---have you seen the www.newpcus.org website? What do you think?
