POWER IN THE WORD
At a recent Bible study, we started our meeting by singing "Power in the Blood." We then moved into our study of the fourth chapter of Hebrews, where we read in verse twelve: "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."It occurred to me that there is power not only in the blood of the Lamb, but in the Word of God as well. God-breathed Scripture is alive ... and powerful! Praise God for the soul-cleansing blood of Christ, and praise Him for the life-giving power of the Word. To be sure, there is power, power, wonder-working power, in the blood of the Lamb ... and in the Word of the Lord!

Amen. We have had long discussions about the difference between expository preaching and topical preaching at Seminary. I fall fully in the expository camp as I see Scripture as more than just a resource but as the living breathing Word of God.
Ok, personal testimony...
we're doing the "Bible in 90 days" program. 14 people reading 12 pages of scripture/day- will finish the Bible in 90 days. Everyone I check in with, are talking about what they are reading. AND connecting dots-- eyes opening and becoming aware of him at work... it really is remarkable. Living and active... AMEN!
thanks DQ..

Living and active, indeed!
That is quite a testimony, RP. I wonder what our churches would be like if more of our members had that kind of commitment to Bible reading!
